Sunday September 25th 2011 - 6:30 pm until 12
At The Shannon Door Pub
Each year, there is a concert to benefit the scholarship. The Concert begins at 6:30 pm and lasts until midnight! Tickets are $8.00.
The musicians that play this night receive no fee. They play out of the joy that they get from playing with fellow musicians they don’t get to play with often. More importantly, they play to honor two fellow musicians who loved life and gave to the community their gift of music, and can continue their legacy through the scholarship.
This concert would not be possible were it not for the support of many people. The local businesses in the valley have always been huge supporters of the scholarship. We thank our host, the Shannon Door Pub, and Mike Lavoie who has generously donated his printing skills throughout the years of the scholarship concert. We wish to thank Attitash Bear Peak, the Valley Originals who donated gift certificates from Darby Field Inn, Up Country Restaurant, Wildcat Tavern, and the Shannon Door, Healthmoves, Jackson Ski Touring, Jewelry by Tim Psaledakis, Joseph’s Spaghetti Shed and Sugarmaker Bakery, King Pine, Muddy Moose, North Conway Music, North Country Fair Jewelers, Settlers Green, Wentworth Golf, Almost There, and Wildcat Mountain. We hope we haven’t forgotten anyone.
Thank you to the Mountain Ear, Conway Daily Sun, and WMWV for helping us get the word out.
On 17 June 2010, the Peter Lewis and Peter White Music Scholarship presented a scholarship to a Kennett senior who will be pursuing their education in the field of music. We are always awed by the talent of the young people in this valley.
The scholarship is funded totally by the annual concert and raffle, which is not only a fundraiser, but a celebration of the lives of two men who always encouraged young people to pursue their dreams, especially their musical dreams.
The winner of the 2009 trip to Bermuda was Matt Martin. He and his fiancé had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scholarship Beneficiary
The Peter Lewis and Peter White Music Scholarship is awarded to a Kennett High School Senior who is continuing their education in Music. The student must be majoring in Music, whether it be Applied Music or Music Education.
